Complete Decluttering Strategy:

Being a superhero requires huge amounts of

energy and concentration – that is why the

huge amount of clutter being left behind.

Need to be organized so that focus can be

shifted to what matters the most.


Super Tips!



Phase 1: Prepare for Battle
(Decluttering Mindset)

1. Set goal: Define your why – what benefits
do you want from decluttering? (e.g., Rely
Less on Others, Develop Better Relationships,
More Free Time)

* My goals include spending more time
working on important family obligations.
2. Schedule time: Specify any days/hours
that are required to declutter.

* For de-cluttering a given area take note of
Sundays from 9 AM to noon.
Phase 2:
Gather Superhero Tools (Decluttering
Essentials)
3. Sorting bins:

Go through your collection of boxes/bags
and separate your belongings into donation
recycling, and trash.

* Fun bins labeled “donate,” “recycle,” and
“trash” have made my life easier, letting me
keep energy focused on sorting.
4. Label maker:

Claims and organizes categories and item
types to make them easy to organize and
locate.

* There is also help from the label maker as
it clearly labels all storage containers making
it easy to see what is inside each container.
Phase 3. Attack Clutter Zones (Room by
Room Decluttering)

5. Start small: Reduce the room being focused on to
maintain concentration and energy.

* To make it more efficient I focus on one
part of the living room and each time work
on a new shelf.
6. Purge paperwork: Documents, files, and
bills being no longer necessary should be
recycled and shredded.

* Paperwork tends to pile up which is why
I put it through a sorter often to remove
what is no longer needed while keeping
important files in an organized cabinet.

Phase 4:Defeat Clutter Categories (Item-by-Item
Decluttering)

7. Clothing sweep: Remove outdated,
ill-fitting, or unused clothing items

* I try on clothes, removing items that no
longer fit or suit my superhero style

8. Electronics purge: Dispose of broken,
outdated, or unnecessary accessories

* I test electronics, recycling or donating
working items and responsibly disposing
of broken ones

Phase 5:
Establish Superhero Habits
(Maintenance Mode)

9. Create routines: Schedule regular
decluttering sessions

* Daily: Quick picks-ups Weekly: Closet organization; Monthly: Deep cleaning
10. Maintaining mindset: Continuously
evaluate possessions and letting go of
unnecessary items

Phase 6: Organize Closets

1. Empty closet completely:

* Remove all items * Dust and vacuum closet floor/shelves
2. Purge unnecessary items:

* Discard broken or unused items
3. Categorize remaining items:

* Group similar items together * Use dividers and bins for organization
4. Assign homes for items:

* Use double rods for double hanging space * Install shelves for folded items
Phase 7: Declutter Bathrooms
1. Purge expired toiletries:

* Check expiration dates * Discard unused or expired items
2. Organize bathroom cabinets:

* Use baskets and dividers for categories * Label each category (medicines, skincare
)
3. Tackle bathroom clutter:

* Remove unnecessary items from
countertops * Use trays or baskets for daily essentials
Phase 8:
Tackles Kitchen Cabinets

1. Empty cabinets completely:

* Remove all items * Wipe down cabinets with soap and water
2. Purge unnecessary items:

* Discard broken or unused cookware * Donate gently used items
3. Categorize remaining items:

* Group similar items together
(baking dishes, cooking utensils) * Use dividers and baskets for organization
4. Assign homes for items:

* Store heavy items at bottom * Frequently used items at eye level
Phase 9:
Organize Garage/Storage Areas

1. Purge unnecessary items:

* Discard broken or unused
tools/equipment * Donate gently used items
2. Categorize remaining items:

* Group similar items together
(tools, sports equipment, seasonal decor) * Use bins and labels for organization
3. Assign homes for items:

* Install shelving units or cabinets * Use hooks for hanging items (bikes, bags)
4. Maintain organization:

* Schedule regular tidying sessions

assigned homes

Phase 10: Touches & Maintenance

1. Review entire space:

* Ensure all areas decluttered and organized * Identify remaining clutter hotspots

2. Create maintenance schedule:

* Daily: Quick picks-ups (10 mins) * Weekly: Deeper cleaning (30 mins) * Monthly: Special tasks (1 hour)
3. Establish habits:

* One-touch rule: Handle items once * Designate homes for belongings * Schedule regular decluttering sessions
